Description
This exhibition features two styles of Chinese brush painting – gongbihua (court style realism) and shumohua (freehand style). The subject matter – birds, flowers, insects, animals – reflect Chinese artists’ traditional fascination with capturing the natural world in a way that conveys both realism and poetry. This exhibition invites you to join my journey into Chinese brush painting and to see how using a brush, and a variety of mediums like paper and silk, can be the source of creation, joy and discovery.
