A Dark Sky Reserve is an internationally recognised area for viewing and protecting the night skies. Aotearoa is home to five of these celestial realms allowing us to see into the darkness.

I have always been drawn to wild, remote places where earth, ocean, and sky integrate and overwhelm the senses. It’s a visceral thing, embedded deep in the DNA I share with my Scottish ancestors.

These paintings are a kind of portal into those worlds that I hold in my memory and my heart.
